IACTP - (International Association of Correctional Training Personnel) is an international professional association of trainers, training administrators, and educators representing all aspects of the field of adult and juvenile justice. IACTP was established in 1974.
ACA - (American Correctional Association) is a multidisciplinary organization of professionals representing all levels and facets of corrections and criminal justice, including federal, state and military correctional facilities, county jails and metropolitan detention centers, probation and parole agencies, and community corrections/halfway houses. ACA is comprised of 62 chapters and affiliated organizations, as well as more than 20,000 individual members. ACA serves as the umbrella organization for all areas of corrections, providing a broad base of expertise that no other organization in the world can offer to this growing field.
NIC - (National Institute of Corrections) We provide training, technical assistance, information services, and policy/program development assistance to federal, state, and local corrections agencies. Through cooperative agreements, we award funds to support our program initiatives. We also provide leadership to influence correctional policies, practices, and operations nationwide in areas of emerging interest and concern to correctional executives and practitioners as well as public policymakers.
AJA - (American Jail Association) is a national, nonprofit organization
dedicated to supporting those who work in and operate our nation's jails.
AJA is the only national association that focuses exclusively on issues
specific to the operations of local correctional facilities.
APPA - (American Probation and Parole Association) is at the vanguard in exploring issues relevant to the field of community-based corrections. APPA provides training and technical assistance, clearinghouse services and advocacy.
