Secretary of the Department of Labor Cerron Cade most recently served as the Director of and oversaw the transition of the Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO) to the Delaware Division of Small Business, Development, and Tourism. He previously served as the Deputy Director and interim Director of the DEDO. Previously, Secretary Cade worked as a legislative aide for the Delaware State House of Representatives, New Castle County Deputy County Director for U.S. Senator Tom Carper and State Projects Director for then-Congressman John Carney. Secretary Cade joined Governor Jack Markell’s staff as Legislative Liaison in 2015. Within Secretary Cade’s Department of Labor, the Advancement through Pardons and Expungements (APEX) has become a highly successful program for those with criminal histories looking to re-enter the work force.
